January Angel of the Month – Darby O’Kill

Our January 2016 Angel of the Month is our funky haired, 80’s music loving, Non-Skating Official (NSO) Darby O’Kill! Darby joined ACDG’s Parks and REFreation crew February 2013 from Prison City Derby Dames (Chino, CA) and we are so happy she did!

Darby is a WFTDA Level 2 Certified NSO, which means she is certified to perform non-skating official (NSO) duties for WFTDA sanctioned interleague play, and eligible to apply for & officiate at the WFTDA Playoffs & Championships; the world’s highest level of roller derby play. As a WFTDA Level 2 Certified NSO, in 2015 Darby officiated at WFTDA’a D1 Playoffs in Tucson, AZ and at the WFTDA Championships in St. Paul, MN!

When Darby isn’t jet setting and officiating at the highest level roller derby has to offer, she is bridging the gap between skaters and officials for ACDG. In 2015 she took the responsibility of communications liaison for our Parks and REFs crew for all visiting teams. Darby maintains a positive relationship with everyone she interacts with and is so much fun to be around!

In 2016, Darby will be Head NSO for our Parks and REFs crew. We are honored to have someone of Darby’s caliber and class officiate and represent ACDG’s Parks and Refs crew both locally and internationally for WFTDA sanctioned bouts.

You can watch Darby O’Kill officiate during our 2016 season at the Culver City Veterans Auditorium & Angel City Headquarters in Gardena!
