Let’s all visualize this…
8-years of derby played, track lead, coach, strategy genius. What do you see? We are guessing it’s probably not a 19-year old who is simultaneously conquering the track, working towards a Biomedical Engineering degree and learning how to cook? But yes, our February Angel of the Month is Death Down Under!
Death is an all-around superstar. A member of the Hollywood Scarlets, Death joined ACD in 2017 as an 18-year-old college freshman at USC and has been wowing coaches and teammates since day one. On the track, Death leads her wall to greatness with her incredible knack for forming, communicating and executing strategy. Described by her adoring teammates as “baby genius”, Death is wise beyond her years and the trusted glue to her powerful wall.
Death’s leadership prowess is taking center stage as she starts her season as coach of Angel City Junior Derby alongside teammate Psycho. Stepping up to re-vamp and lead ACJD is a huge responsibility for anyone, let alone someone who is managing her second year of college and playing on a Championship competing team. Oh, and did we fail to mention she also plays on an ultimate frisbee team? Growing up in derby makes Death an invaluable resource for JRDA and a perfect leader to relate to our youngest skaters and help take our Juniors to the top!
To put it simply…Death steps up! She takes on everything she commits to with ownership and pride. From putting together our minimum skills testing to creating the most impeccable spreadsheets this side of the Mississippi, her work is flawless and doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thank you Death Down Under for being a superstar teammate, coach and leader for our league. Oh…and thank you for sharing your amazing parents who provide us with the best cookies and cheer squad out there. You are truly indispensable and we are so lucky to have you.
