Angel of the Month, April – Dizzy Izzy!

Strong, determined, inspirational. A super skilled athlete who has an incredible drive especially for someone her age who will one day really inspire young athletes if she doesn’t already.

These are some words used to describe our Angel of the Month for April 2018, Dizzy Izzy!

Izzy started roller derby in 2012 as part of Tokyo Roller Girls, Yokosuka Mochi Pounders in Japan. She then transferred to the San Diego Roller Derby Cadettes for a couple seasons before transferring to Angel City Junior Derby and now skates with The A-Listers, which we are so happy to have her skate with us!

Although Izzy is a junior she is already building quite an impressive derby resume. Izzy has been a part of the 2016 Junior Olympics Southwest Team, is a member of the JRDA All Star Team and on Team USA Juniors West.
All of Izzy’s hard work is paying off as she is officially sponsored by Cheeseballs Bearings and 187 Derby but also just made the final roster of Team USA Juniors.

Since skating on the A-Listers, Izzy has become a leader on the team and is one of the best jammers you could ever have the pleasure of watching compete. Her hard work and dedication to the sport are motivating to other juniors as well as adults.

Off the track Izzy’s also such a fun person to be around. As a freshman in High School she runs cross-country and track, and was a captain on the JV waterpolo team. With everything she does she still manages to maintain straight A’s and loves to work out.

Thank you Izzy for being such a special member of our league. We are proud to have such a strong, influential young woman represent ACD where ever she skates, whether it is with her team, ACJD’s The A-Listers or on Team USA Juniors.

You can watch Izzy and the rest of the A-Listers compete in So-Cal Shakedown April 6th – 8th. Get your tickets now!
