The last time the Hollywood Scarlets and the Sacred City Sacrificers met at the WFTDA Bay of Reckoning West Region Playoffs in 2012, the electricity in the venue nearly went out because of the power surge on the track. The Scarlets are currently riding the high 3 wins kicking off their 2013 season after last year’s devastating one-point loss to the Sacrificers, and they are hoping to keep it that way. On March 16th, the Scarlets will take on their long-term rivals and the Veterans Auditorium will be rumbling like a Southern California earthquake.

Sacred City’s Sacrificers have been victorious in every match up except ONE against Angel City’s Hollywood Scarlets in both leagues’ histories, but the wins have always been very narrow. In nearly every instance, Angel City was ahead for the first half, and Sacred mounted a successful comeback to dominate the second half and eventually win, or come close to it. Since their first meeting in 2007, the two leagues have experienced very similar growth trajectories of their travel teams.

2007: Sacred wins 95-66
2008: Sacred wins 70-61
2010: Sacred wins 122-100
2011: Sacred wins (at West Region Playoffs) 136-111
2012: Angel City wins (in May) 143-137
2012: Sacred wins (in Sept at West Region Playoffs) 147-146

The average margin of victory over the past 6 Angel City / Sacred City games is a mere 15 points.
